Without exeption…. Because I think to memorize the character I have to name the components …!?? A Chinese character consists of basic strokes. A radical is a component. Phonetic component is another. Components are important for mnemonic. Component lies between a basic stroke and the whole character. For example .. I (me) J When I see an arbitrary Hanzi (Chinese character) I do not know: -its meaning. -its pronunciation (Pinyin). That's why I'm looking for a software which sole purpose (with the help of mnemonic!) is to stick in my mind the combination of character+pronunciation+meaning. So that I can "read" a Chinese text literally.
